Our other Grace Jones Poster is an imagined interpretation of her time recording at Compass Point Studios . This poster is dedicated to her most famous album “Nightclubbing”. In many ways, this album, and amazing woman, has served as the inspiration for how we DJ, who our events represent, and who we are as people. Although we put a major effort into promoting new, emerging artists and sounds, this album’s mix of dub, new wave, synth, and funk permeates throughout all our mixes and DJ sets. As a person, Grace is a force to be reckoned with, who says and does what she wants, and when she wants. And then there is the single “Pull Up To The Bumper”, one of the most profane singles to make it on the charts: “Pull up to my bumper baby, with your long, black limousine … drive it in between …race it, straighten it, let me lubricate it.” Not only has this single been out anthem for over 20 years, it serves as a reminder that dance music can be sexy and fun at the same time.
