This shirt celebrates Grace Jones and her most famous 1981 breakout hit “Pull Up To The Bumper” , the third single form her album “Nightclubbing”, a unique mix of reggae, disco, and new wave that defined her "Compass Point" sound. The song is famous for its heavy use of sexual double entendres with lines  like "Grease it / Spray it / Let me lubricate it”, a "blunt statement" of sexual liberation. The original version of the song came via an instrumental recorded by drummer Sly Dunbar during the Warm Leatherette sessions. The track first leaked out as “Peanut Butter” on the B-side of kiddie reggae crooner Junior Tucker’s “The Kick (Rock On)”, but, eager to make it hers, Grace co-wrote new lyrics equating cars with carnality.

The song peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart and number 53 on the UK Singles Chart and when re-released in 1986, it peaked at number 12 in the UK. Japanese car maker Toyota wanted young, hip people to buy their newly released Toyota Celica sports car and had their Japan-market advertisers strike a deal to use the imagery from Grace’s album “Nightclubbing” for their ads. The images used for this creation include recreating the text from the 12” Uk remix, a photo from Smash Hits Magazine, and on the back the cars from the original Toyota add superimposed on the Island Records logo.
